Dear Patient, As the field of medicine has evolved over the last few decades, I find the technology that we have at our fingertips now to take care of our patients both exciting and stimulating. It is the job of the internist, or any doctor for that matter, to help guide a patient through this maze of medical technology. I think, however, that as our capabilities advance, we sometimes forget the basics of good, old-fashioned medical care...and that is to take the time to listen to our patients, to talk with our patients, and to treat our patients individually.
